Dawood Ibrahim lives in Pakistan; Don’s nephew tells ED

MUMBAI: Underworld don Dawood Ibrahim is living in Pakistan’s Karachi, revealed his nephew Alishah to the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

“Me and my family are not in contact with Dawood, however, his wife Mehajabin contacts my wife and sisters during festivals”, Alishah said.

“My mother was actually a housewife but she used to do some small financial dealings for livelihood. She used to get rent from the properties she owned. She used to lend sums ranging from Rs 3 to 5 lakh to people who needed funds for their business. For the same, she used to receive profit as agreed on a case-to-case basis”, he added.

“Being Dawood Ibrahim’s sister, my mother was a known figure in our society. She used to settle property-related disputes”, Alishah said. The ED is investigating Dawood’s family members and relatives who are aiding him in generating illegal money and laundering it through hawala channels. Earlier in February, ED had interrogated Chhota Shakeel’s brother-in-law Salim Fruit in connection with the case.
