ALAPPUZHA: Police have taken two people into custody in connection with the incident where a minor boy chanted provocative slogans at a Popular Front rally. Popular Front district president Nawaz and Erattupetta Ansar were taken into custody. The child was seen chanting provocative slogans while sitting on Ansar's shoulder. Both Nawaz and Ansar were taken into custody by the Alappuzha South police. The Popular Front had staged a protest against the police officers who arrived in Erattupetta this morning.

Police registered the case on a complaint lodged by the Bharatiya Abhibashaka Parishad. The police took the action after collecting digital evidence. Alappuzha police chief G Jaidev said the parents of the child would be questioned after identifying the child.
