Woman beheads husband for trying to woo her married friend

KOLKATA: A woman, along with her friends, beheaded her husband for trying to woo her friend. The head was then thrown into a river and the body was loaded into a vehicle and dumped in a drain. The incident took place in Hooghly in West Bengal. The accused were arrested by the police.

The deceased has been identified as Shubhjyoti Basu (25). Basu's wife Pooja, friend Sarmishta Bhaskar Adhikari and husband Subir Adhikari were arrested by the police. Basu and Pooja got married a month and a half ago. Meanwhile, Basu got attracted his wife's friend Sarmishta after meeting her. Afterwards, he made a love proposal to Sarmishta and pestered her. She informed Basu's wife and her own husband about this. The trio then plotted to kill Basu and summoned him to a brick kiln on the banks of the Hooghly River.

Here, Basu was given alcohol and the three of them chopped of his head with a sharp weapon and threw it into the river. The tattoo on Basu's hand helped police identify the body. Police posted pictures of him on social media and his relatives identified him.
