Two youths, who barged into flat and extorted money from sex racket, arrested

KOZHIKODE: Two youths have been arrested for trespassing inside a flat and extorting money from them. The youths robbed the flat in Ozhukara near Kozhikode Medical College where the sex racket was centered.

The gang attacked the women and men who were in the flat. They also extorted Rs 17,000, mobile phones and a jacket from them.

Arun Das (28), Ismail (25) and Amal (22) were arrested by the Medical College Assistant Commissioner of Police K Sudarshan and Inspector Benny Lalu.

The robbery took place around 8 pm on Tuesday night. The sex centre was run by Abdul Jaleel, a resident of Malappuram, and the flat was overseen by Abdul Rashid from Chevayur. Police say the man behind the sex racket is yet to be caught.

Abdul Jaleel had been delivering the girls, from other states who were staying in the flat, to the customers through social media and online sites. Police said they would find the girls who were at the scene and check if they had been subjected to any kind of abuse. Police have recovered the looted cash from the accused.
