AHMEDABAD: The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence seized 56 kg of cocaine smuggled in a container at Mundra port in Gujarat. It is estimated that it will cost more than Rs 500 crore in the illicit market. The investigation was based on confidential information. The cocaine was stored in a container hidden among other imported items.
Last month, DRI seized Rs 1,300 crore worth of heroin from the port of Kandla, and in September, 3,000 kg of narcotics smuggled from Afghanistan were seized at the port of Mundra. It is estimated to be worth Rs 21,000 crore in the international illicit market.
