School reopening: 45,881 children vaccinated on Thursday

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Covid vaccination for children from 12 years of age continues ahead of the opening of the school. Minister Veena George said 45,881 children had been vaccinated yesterday.

11,554 children aged 15-17 years and 34,327 children aged 12-14 years were vaccinated. 5,054 children aged 15 - 17 years received the first dose and 6,500 children received the second dose. 27,486 children aged 12-14 years received the first dose and 6,841 children received the second dose. A total of 1263 vaccination centres were functioning yesterday, including 699 vaccination centres for those over 12 years of age, 301 centres for those over 15 years of age and 263 centres for those over 18 years of age. The first dose was given to 82% of children aged 15-17 years and the second dose to 53% of children. 44% of children aged 12-14 years were given the first dose and 12% the second dose. Vaccination will continue tomorrow.
