KATHMANDU: A plane that has gone missing in Nepal with 22 passengers on board has crashed. It is indicated that no one on board escaped. The plane was en route to Jomsom from the Nepalese city of Pokhara when it went missing.
The villagers informed the army that they had found the wreckage. The wreckage was found in Kowang, Mustang. A military spokesman said troops are moving toward the scene.
The plane was in the air route above Jomsom in the Mustang district. Then it deviated to the Dhaulagiri mountains. Earlier, Chief District Officer Netra Prasad Sharma had said that the aircraft was diverted to Dhaulagiri Hill and then lost contact with the aircraft and the control room.
The plane was carrying 19 passengers and three crew members. This is Tara Airlines' 9 NAET twin engine aircraft. The pilot of the aircraft was Prabhakar Prasad Gimire. Among the passengers were four Indians.
