Heavy polling in Thrikkakara, fronts hopeful of victory, drunk presiding officer held

KOCHI: The voting which started at 7 am at Thrikkakara Tuesday morning is progressing. In the meanwhile, a presiding officer who came drunk has been held. He was the presiding officer of Marottichuvadu St George School.


He has been identified as P Varghese, the presiding officer of booth No 23. In this situation, another presiding officer was deployed and Varghese was taken for a medical examination.

Meantime, four hours after polling began, 28.33 % voter turnout has been registered. The fronts claim that the rising turnout is in their favour. Uma Thomas said the majority of the UDF would rise. However, Jo Joseph's response was that there is no doubt about the victory of the LDF. A N Radhakrishnan said the BJP will bring a surprise.
