KOCHI: Police have identified the expatriate who circulated an obscene video in the name of LDF candidate Dr Joe Joseph. Police have taken steps to repatriate the expatriate, a native of Arukutty in Alappuzha. Police received information about the expatriate when they questioned Kottakkal native Abdul Latheef (43), who uploaded the obscene video on Twitter. Latheef was arrested by a special team of Kochi police from Coimbatore.

Police have also arrested Arukutty native Nabeel (49) and Vaduthala native Noufal (41) for handing over the video to Latheef. Noufal was the first to receive the video from the expatriate. He then handed over the video to Nabeel. Abdul Latheef, who got the video from Nabeel, later uploaded it on Twitter. Twitter authorities had handed over the details of the person who created the fake profile and spread the video to the Kochi Police Commissioner.
