KOCHI: AA Rahim has lashed out at the demonstrations staged by Congress workers against senior leader KV Thomas soon after the Thrikkakkara election result came out. Rahim accused the Congress workers of racially abusing KV Thomas. Rahim added that it was surprising to see that no Congress leaders rejected such arrogant behaviour of the party workers.
"They can face KV Thomas politically. The Congress workers are staging a procession in Ernakulam town by distributing 'thirutha' fish. Congress should not misunderstand that the victory in Thrikkakara is a license to abuse someone racially. The election has turned Congress arrogant. It is surprising that no leaders have rejected this act of the Congress workers," Rahim said.
Earlier, Congress workers had staged a victory procession to KV Thomas's residence soon after it became clear that Uma Thomas would win in Thrikkakkara.
They celebrated by symbolically distributing 'thirutha' fish and bursting crackers. Some workers even went on to burn the pictures of KV Thomas.
