Assam’s ‘Lady Singham’, who arrested her fiancé on fraud charges, nabbed in same case

GUWAHATI: An Assam police officer, who made headlines for arresting her fiancé on fraud charges, was nabbed for alleged corruption. The arrested has been identified as Junmoni Rabha, a lady sub-inspector in Assam’s Nagaon district.

Rabha had arrested her fiancé in a fraud case, last month. Following which, she was found to be involved in the same case. She was kept in custody for the past two days. The arrest was recorded on Saturday. She has been sent to 14-day judicial custody by a court in Majuli district, said the police.

Junmoni Rabha, known as ‘Lady Singham’ and ‘Dabang Cop’, was engaged to Rana Pogag, last October. She had introduced him to two contractors, when she was posted in Majuli.
Rana had duped some people, including the contractors, promising them jobs and contracts in ONGC. Later, allegations were made against Rabha that Rana had collected the money on her behalf. Following which, an investigation was launched and Rabha was arrested.
