MUMBAI: Bollywood star Kangana Ranaut has come out in support of former BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma who sparked controversy through her remarks on the Prophet. Taking it to social media, Kangana said that Nupur had the right to express her personal opinions. The actress also condemned the death threats against Nupur Sharma.
'Nupur is entitled to her opinions, I see all kinds of threats targeted at her, when Hindu Gods are insulted which they are almost every day we go to court,
pls do that no need to play dons yourself…(sic)' Kangana wrote on her social media page.
'… this is not Afghanistan, we have a proper functioning government which is chosen with a process called democracy… just a reminder for those who keep forgetting,' she added.
Nupur Sharma made the remarks during a discussion on the Gyanvapi controversy. Police have also registered a case against her in the incident.
