KOTTAYAM: Former MLA PC George on Wednesday alleged that the Chief Minister is directly involved in gold smuggling. PC George's response came after Swapna repeated the allegations against the Chief Minister and his family in front of the media.

"Not only Swapna, Sarith and Sivashankar, but also the Chief Minister is involved in gold smuggling. The Chief Minister is the first accused. Earlier, I raised the same allegation against the Chief Minister. I said that the Chief Minister can deny what I said. I also that I would face a defamation suit if he files one. It's been four months. So far, the Chief Minister has not denied this. Is it right for a CM to go for gold smuggling? Isn't this an insult to Kerala society?", George said

"Deshabhimani is a newspaper that keeps on lying. They say the conspiracy is out. What is this conspiracy? They say that the phone conversation between Saritha and PC George is out. Is this a big thing?. How many years have I been talking to Saritha. I call Saritha 'chakkarappenne' (sweet girl) like my granddaughter. This is how I call my son's daughter. She is a poor woman who has been destroyed by politicians, ”PC George added.
