KOCHI: The Kerala High Court has stayed the proceedings in the sedition case against Aisha Sultana. The court has issued an interim order suspending further proceedings against filmmaker Aisha Sultana in the wake of the Supreme Court verdict in sedition cases. The court has stayed the FIR registered by the Kavaratti police and further proceedings on the case.
Lakshadweep BJP president C Abdul Khader Haji had lodged a complaint with the island police against Aisha for making 'bio-weapon' remark during a channel discussion. The discussion was part of the 'Save Lakshadweep' agitation. Aisha's controversial remarks were against Lakshadweep administrator Praful Patel.
Aisha said that Praful Khoda Patel is a 'bio weapon' sent by the central government to destroy Lakshadweep. After the controversy, she withdrew the statement and expressed regret.
