MALAPPURAM: With the Perinthalmanna court granting him bail in four cases of sexual harassment, former CPM leader and teacher KV Sasikumar is likely to get released from jail soon. He was earlier granted bail by the Manjeri court in two POCSO cases.
Sasikumar was booked under POCSO Act for sexually abusing two children while he served as a teacher in a school in Malappuram. The students made the #MeToo allegations against him soon after Sasikumar posted a note on Facebook regarding his retirement. With this, the police registered a case against Sasikumar. He then went into hiding and was apprehended from a homestay near Sultan Bathery.
Sasikumar had served as a councillor of Kozhikode Corporation three times. He had been harassing students for thirty years.
