Former teacher and Malappuram corporation member K V Sasi Kumar was granted bail in the POCSO case, last day. Since then, protests have intensified on social media.
The sexual abuse, which lasted for 30 years, came to light after a former student of the school commented below a social media post shared by Sasi Kumar after his retirement. Following which, several other girl students also lodged complaints against him. Soon after, the police registered a case against Sasi Kumar.
Independent journalist Saranya M Charu wrote on Facebook that this is the first time in the history of Kerala that such abuses have taken place. With the accused granted bail, every child abused by him has been denied justice. His method is to put chalks inside the clothes of girl students while taking class and trying to take it out in bad ways.
The complaint lodged against him by ten children to the sisters in the school, have not yet been made public. The accused is being protected both publicly and secretly, stated the note.
