Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit UAE by month-end, aims to strengthen relations with Gulf countries

NEW DELHI: It is reported that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to visit UAE amid protests erupting in the Gulf over anti-prophet remarks. According to national media, the visit will take place later this month during his trip to Germany to attend the G7 summit.

The G7 summit will be held in Schloss Elmau, in the Bavarian Alps, from June 26 to 28. It is hoped that the the Prime Minister's visit will help to strengthen India's ties with the Gulf countries, including the UAE.

The UAE and India are part of the West Asian Quad, which includes the United States and Israel. The UAE is also India's closest trading partner in the Gulf region. UAE is India's second largest export hub after the United States.
