THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Former chief minister Oommen Chandy came down heavily on the tight security arranged for the chief minister. Pinarayi Vijayan's act of providing extraordinary security cannot be accepted. He also said the manner of harassing the public without allowing them to wear masks cannot be approved.

It is unfortunate that no one is allowed to show black flags to the chief minister. While talking to a private channel, he said that no one is allowed to wear black clothes fearing them to show up that.

Meantime, security has been beefed up in Kannur in the wake of the chief minister’s visit. More than 700 policemen have been deployed for his security. The Congress had decided to stage strong protests in the district. Reports said that protests have been planned in front of Kannur Guest House and on the roadsides.
