Forgot to conduct postmortem of person who died in car accident; Medical College doctor suspended

THRISSUR: The health department has suspended a doctor of the Thrissur Medical College for not conducting the postmortem of a man who died in a car accident. Dr. PJ Jacob, head of the orthopedics department, has been suspended. The health department issued the order in this regard under the direction of the Health Minister after receiving a complaint.

The body of Yusuf, a native of Ottapalam, was handed over to his relatives without conducting a post-mortem. The doctor later explained that he had forgotten to conduct the postmortem. Following this, the body, which was taken home, was later taken back to the hospital for the postmortem.
