THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Secretary V P Joy has testified before CBI court judge K Sanal Kumar that SSLC question paper printing contract was given after checking all documents when he was the Exam Commissioner. He said that all the files that came before him was for determining the amount and signing the check. With more than three lakh people working under me, including teachers, it was impractical to check the mistakes made by each one, said the secretary in the court.
The prosecution case is that more money was given to the press for printing question papers of the years 2002, 2003 and 2004 for SSLC and other exams, which was more than the actual expense.
Kerala Kaumudi published the news about leaking of SSLC question papers in 2005. Two accused were punished by special CBI court in Kochi.There are seven convicts in the case. Kerala Kaumudi Deputy Editor V.S. Rajesh, former DPIs and IAS officers Ajit Kumar and Lida Jacob were questioned earlier.
