Protest in flight: CM's statement to be recorded, lookout for the third accused

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The special investigation team will record the statement of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in the case where the Youth Congress members chanted slogans against the Chief Minister inside an Indigo flight. The probe team has sough the CM's time for this. Meanwhile, a look-out notice will be issued against Sunith Narayanan, the third accused in the case. The probe team will question all those who were contacted by Sunith after coming out of the airport. The probe team, which met yesterday, also decided to investigate the conspiracy carried out in Kannur ahead of the protest inside the plane.

The police carried out an inspection on the Kannur-Thiruvananthapuram flight of Indigo Airlines in which the protest took place and prepared a scene mahasar. The evidence was collected with the Chief Minister's gunman Anil Kumar. The inspection was held in Thiruvananthapuram from 4.45 pm to 5.20 pm yesterday. Detailed statements of all passengers and crew on board will be recorded shortly. The accused Farseen Majeed (27) and Naveen Kumar (37) are in remand.

Meanwhile, a report submitted by Indigo Airlines to the police in connection with the incident has sparked a controversy. The opposition claimed that the report prepared by the manager without including the name of LDF convener EP Jayarajan was politically motivated. Opposition leader VD Satheesan has lodged a complaint with Indigo seeking a review of the report.
