ALABAMA: Two people were killed in a shooting at a church in the US. One person has sustained injuries. The incident took place at Saint Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Vestavia Hills, Alabama. The assailant had opened fire at a small group church meeting amid prayers. He was nabbed and is being interrogated, said the police.
The attack occurred at local time 5 pm on Thursday. The reason for the shooting or the details of the dead have not been revealed. The injured is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital. So far, around 20,000 people have been killed in various gun violence incidents in the US, this year alone. The last major incident was the killing of 19 students and two teachers in Texas elementary school, on May 24. Following the attack, the shooter was also shot dead by the police.
