Sonia Gandhi being treated for respiratory tract infection; bleeding from nose, kept under observation

NEW DELHI: Reports suggest that Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi, who is undergoing treatment for post-Covid symptoms at Sri Gangaram Hospital, is currently suffering from fungal infection in the respiratory tract. Sonia Gandhi had developed profuse bleeding from her nose and is currently under observation, said a statement by AICC general secretary for communication Jairam Ramesh.

She is currently undergoing treatment for respiratory tract infection, said the party. Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi are at the hospital with their mother. Rahul Gandhi, who had been appearing for questioning before the Enforcement Directorate (ED), has been in the hospital since Thursday. The ED had issued a notice to Sonia Gandhi summoning her for questioning on June 23. However, the date has been extended citing health issues. Sonia Gandhi was tested positive on June 2. Following which, she was admitted to hospital on June 12.
