Retired Agniveers will be appointed as security personnel in party offices, says BJP leader; issues clarification as statement becomes controversial

NEW DELHI: A BJP leader has made a controversial statement about those invlolved in the Agnipath scheme. Senior BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya commented that Agniveers will be given priority for security work at BJP offices. But as the statement became controversial, Kailash issued a clarification.

'Discipline and obeying orders are very important in the Armed Forces.When an Agniveer will take training and come out after serving in the defence sector for 4 years at the age of 21 to 25 years, he will have ₹11 lakh. He will have the tag of an Agniveer. If I want to hire security for the BJP office, I will give priority to Agniveers', said Vijayvargiya.


However, Vijayvargya blamed the toolkit team for the controversy over his statement. 'The toolkit gang is trying to distort my statement and insult the Agniveers.' Kailash Vijaywargya's statement was strongly criticized by several party leaders.
