Messi wanted to kill me and I wanted to go home, says PSG footballer Paredes about his scuffle with Barcelona player

PARIS: Argentinian captain and Barcelona star Lionel Messi wanted to kill me, said Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Leandro Paredes. A year back, Messi was tackled by Paredes during a Champions League game. Following which, the Barcelona player sustained injuries and had to leave the match.

However, Paredes revealed that he had then faced Messi’s wrath. “He got angry, because I had made a comment to my teammates and he heard me. He wanted to kill me and I wanted to go home,” Paredes said.

“Afterwards, I saw him in the national team and he acted as if nothing happened. He showed me what he is like as a person. The relationship continued as it was”, he added. Paredes and Messi are now club colleagues at Parc des Princes.
