Accused in Vismaya case is gardener in Poojappura Central Jail; gets wage of Rs 63

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kiran Kumar, the accused in the Vismaya dowry death case, is now a gardener in Poojappura Central Jail. Work in the garden at Central Jail will begin at 7 am every day. Kiran, a former motor vehicle inspector, gets a wage of Rs 63 a day. After one year, it will be increased to Rs 127.

Kiran is a prisoner in the fifth block. He gets intervals for breakfast and lunch. He also gets tea in the evening. Prisoners, including Kiran, have to take care of the farming and ornamental plants inside the compound.
