NEW DELHI: A youth was arrested for allegedly raping an eight-year-old girl with the intent of spreading AIDS. The accused, a 25-year-old man who is HIV positive, was arrested by the Delhi police. The incident took place in Badarpur, Delhi. The youth was questioned by the police after days of raping the girl. During the interrogation, the accused confessed that he was HIV positive and had deliberately tried to spread the disease.
On June 15, Badarpur police had received a complaint that a minor girl was raped at the Molarband extension in Delhi. The girl's mother alleged in the complaint that her neighbour, a native of Agra, had raped her daughter and fled the place. The rape took place while the girl was alone at the house.
Following the complaint, the girl was subjected to a medical examination. Soon after, an investigation was launched by a four-member team of officials and the accused was arrested from his house at Bamani Khera village in Haryana.
