NEW DELHI: Countrywide protests are rife against Modi government’s Agnipath scheme. However, there are many voices heard in support of the scheme as well. Many people, including prominent industrialists, have opened up several job opportunities before those who are raising doubts about the Suncertain lives of Agniveers after four years. In addition, various states have come forward promising jobs government jobs and other opportunities for Agniveers. Now, National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval has come out explaining about the merits of the Agnipath project and why the Modi government is implementing it. Doval expressed his views while talking in an interview with news agency ANI.
“There is a need to look at the Agnipath scheme in a perspective. Agnipath is not a standalone scheme in itself. When Prime Minister Narendra Modi came to power in 2014, one of his prime priorities was how to make India secure and strong. That required many avenues, many steps - multitude of them. Security is a dynamic concept and it cannot remain static,” Doval said.

“The whole war is undergoing a great change. We are going toward contactless wars and also going towards the war against the invisible enemy. Technology is taking over at a rapid pace. If we have to prepare for tomorrow, then we have to change, Doval said.
“The entire Army will not comprise of ‘Agniveers’. As far as regiments are concerned, two things need to be understood. Nobody is tinkering with the concept of regiments. The regimental system has not ended," he said. On the involvement of coaching centres in the violence, Doval said, “FIRs lodged, accused identified, after due probe we can say who were the forces behind it. An investigation must be done and thoroughly so.”
