THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The KSRTC which abandoned the move to buy CNG buses based on Kerala Kaumdi report, has repeated that they will not change their stand. During the discussion with the members of the planning board, KSRTC repeated that CNG bus was not suitable for KSRTC.

According to the management, electric buses are better than CNG.The funding announced by KIIFB should be diverted to the purchase of e-buses. They also demanded tax exemption for diesel. The meeting was to discuss the financial assistance required by KSRTC in the next financial year.

On May 23, Kerala Kaumudi had pointed out that the decision to buy a low mileage 700 CNG bus at double the price of a diesel bus would be a huge liability. Subsequently, KSRTC withdrew the tender to purchase CNG buses.
