THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The entry of Anitha Pullayil, arraigned in the antiques fraud case, into the assembly complex, was a mistake and action has been taken against the four persons responsible for it, said Speaker M B Rajesh. An immediate action was taken in consideration of the seriousness of the incident, he said. Action has been taken against four contract employees namely Vipuraj, Praveen, Vishnu and Vaseela. They are employees of the company that provides technical assistance to Sabha TV. They have been relieved of their duties, the speaker said in a press conference.

None of the employees had helped Anitha to enter into the assembly complex. She was not recognized by the watch and ward as well. Anitha had possessed a pass for the open forum. The pass was given to Malayalam Mission and several expatriate organizations. She had come with one such pass, he said. The speaker also explained about the assembly session that is scheduled to begin on Monday.

The chief marshal’s report, stating that Anitha’s entry into the assembly complex was facilitated by the employees of Sabha TV’s consultant company, was handed over to the speaker, last day. Earlier, the security officials on duty had said in their statements that Anitha was allowed to enter the complex as she had an invitation letter to attend the Sabha TV open forum. However, the report does not mention about how she received the invitation. The security personnel did not stop the employees, who had accompanied her, on seeing their identification documents.

Anitha did not enter into the Sankara Narayanan Thampi Hall, where the Loka Kerala Sabha took place. There are not enough CCTV visuals to identify the routes through which she had travelled. There are no CCTVS in the Sabha corridors. The report also emphasized the need to strengthen the system. The chief marshal had collected evidence from six watch and wards.

The invitations for guests at the open forum were extended by NORKA to various expatriate organizations. As per estimates, Anitha would have received the invitation via these organizations. However, NORKA was of the opinion that there was no need to inquire into the matter as she was not invited by them. The chief marshal had conducted the investigation on the direction of the speaker.
