THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Violinist Balabhaskar’s death has sparked yet another controversy. Balabhaskar's father Unni, alleged that a woman, who identified herself as Saritha S Nair, had called him and said that his plea against the CBI probe report, into his son's accidental death, would be rejected. The woman also said that she would intervene in the appeal against the CBI court’s verdict, Unni said. The special CBI court is scheduled to pronounce its verdict on the plea on June 30. Unni also said that Saritha had called him earlier and collected details including the name and contact number of the advocate. On being asked how will we lose the case, she replied that she knows it, said Unni.
Meanwhile, Saritha S Nair, an accused in the Solar case, confirmed that she had called Balabhaskar’s father. “I called him to talk about the case amicably on the basis of my knowledge about the future of such cases. I have spoken to him several years before too. He might not remember it now. My advocate was the one who handled Balabhaskar’s case earlier. It was later handed over to another advocate. I had called him in this regard”, Saritha said while talking to a private channel.
Balabhaskar was killed in an accident near Pallippuram in Thiruvananthapuram in September 2018. The case was taken up by the crime branch following Balabhaskar’s relatives’ allegation about the involvement of the gold smuggling gang in the accident. Following which, the case was transferred to the CBI. The CBI found that there was no mystery in the accident. Balabhaskar’s father had approached the court against the CBI report.
