Heavy rain expected in state, yellow alert in 11 districts

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Heavy rain is expected to lash the state today. Yellow alert has been sounded in 11 districts. The Central Meteorological Department has forecast isolated thundershowers in Kerala from today till July 1.

The yellow alert is in Alappuzha, Idukki, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod. The state is expected to get rain from 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm in 24 hours.

Fishing is not allowed on the coasts of Kerala and Lakshadweep from 29-06-2022 to 01-07-2022 and on the coasts of Karnataka from today till 01-07-2022.

Fishing from 29-06-2022 to 01-07-2022 off the coast of Kerala Lakshadweep and from 01-07-2022 off the coast of Karnataka from today to 01-07-2022 has been banned as there is a possibility of strong winds and bad weather to blow at a speed of 40 to 50 kilometres per hour.
