Murder of expat youth: Two persons arrested

kk

KASARGOD: The Special Investigation Team, led by Kasargod DySP Balakrishnan Nair, has arrested two persons in connection with the murder of expatriate Aboobacker Siddique in Kasargod. The arrested are Manjeshwaram natives Abdul Aziz (36) and Abdul Rahman (41). Apart from them, three others are in custody.

Police said Abdul Rahman was an accomplice and that Aziz was involved in the conspiracy. District police chief Dr Vaibhav Saxena said a 15-member quotation team was behind the murder. Aboobacker Siddique was summoned from abroad and murdered on Sunday night.

According to the police, the quotation gang was assigned by some people who accused Siddique of stealing their dollars worth half a crore and gold sent from the Gulf.

The quotation gang summoned Siddique from the Gulf after abducting his brother Anwar and his friend Ansar. Following this, the gang took the three in a car and dropped Anwar and Ansar at Bandiyod. The gang then murdered Siddique and took his body to the private hospital.

The probe team received information that Rouse, one of the masterminds of the group, had left for the Gulf via the Bangalore airport. Police have made necessary arrangements to nab another main accused, Noorshah. Police said that a person named Zia is the leader of the quotation gang centred in Paivalike. Zia, who was arrested by the NIA in connection with a fake passport case, is currently lodged in a Mumbai jail. In his absence, it was Rouse and Noorshah who took the quotation from the Kunjathoor Udyavar native.
