Results within a month, certificates in 15 days; University exams to be revised radically

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The examination reforms commission, one of the three commissions formed to submit proposals for comprehensive reforms in the higher education sector, has submitted its final report. The report will be implemented soon after forming an executive committee consisting of members of the commissions and information-communication and technical experts from each university, said Higher Education Minister Dr R Bindu.

A comprehensive report comprising of suggestions, including publishing graduation results within a month of examinations and issuing certificates within a maximum of 15 days, has been submitted, said commission chairman Professor C T Aravindakumar (pro-vice chancellor, MG University).

The report was submitted before the minister by commission members namely Dr K Anil Kumar (registrar, Kerala University), Dr A Praveen (registrar, KTU) and Dr C L Joshy (former registrar, Calicut University), along with the commission chairman, in the presence of higher education department additional chief secretary Dr V Venu. The reports by the higher education reforms commission and the university legal reforms commission is in the final phase and will be received soon, said Minister Bindu.
