UDAIPUR: A new revelation made by Rajasthan police in the brutal murder of a tailor over social media posts in support of suspended BJP leader Nupur Sharma. It has been revealed that Riyaz Akhtari, one of the killers paid an additional amount of Rs 5000 to get number '2611' as his bike number plate. This comes after reports surfaced that the suspects had links with the terrorist organization ISIS. This is the date of the 2008 Mumbai terror attack.
After killing Kanhaiya Lal, a tailor, the two tried to escape on a bike and were caught by the police at a distance of 45 km from Udaipur. The seized vehicle is currently kept at the police station. Akhtari bought the bike in 2013. The vehicle's insurance expired in 2014. As per passport details, Riyaz had visited Nepal in 2014. The police also received information that he had made phone calls to Pakistan. The police believe that the bike's number plate will help in getting more clues about the Udaipur murder.
They were also involved in the conspiracy to carry out a series of blasts in Jaipur on March 30. Police said they were linked to Al sufa, a remote sleeper organization of ISIS, through the Pakistan-based Dawat-e-Islami. Riyaz Akhtari is the head of Al-Sufa in Udaipur. The police also said that he has connections with ISIS terrorist Mujeeb, who was arrested from Tonk earlier. The accused are now under judicial custody for fourteen days.
