udaipur-murder

UDAIPUR: The NIA has received evidence pointing to Pakistan links in the incident of the murder of a tailor over social media posts in support of Nupur Sharma. Intelligence sources said that Pakistan-based handlers Salman Haider and Abu Ibrahim had given instructions to Riaz Akhtari and Ghouse Muhammad, the accused in the murder.

Haider and Ibrahim had instructed the two accused to retaliate strongly and to stage major attack against the anti-Prophet remarks. Riaz and Ghouse had tried to arrange explosives like RDX to carry out terror strikes. The two had talked about 'doing something big', informed the investigation team.

The police had revealed the other day that one of the accused, Riaz Akhtari, had paid an extra five thousand rupees to get the number 2611 for his bike number plate. This is the date of the Mumbai terror attack in 2008. After killing Kanhaiya Lal, a tailor, the two tried to escape on a bike and were caught by the police at a distance of 45 km from Udaipur. The accused killed Kanhaiya Lal on last Tuesday and circulated the visuals of this on social media.
