B.Tech, B.Ed graduates to drive police car

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Five engineering degree holders, two B.Ed holders, 36 graduates, and 13 diploma holders. These are the qualifications of driver constables who became part of the state police force yesterday after completing training from Special Armed Police and Malabar Special Battalions. 99 youngsters became part of the force yesterday.

Eligibility for the post of driver constable was plus and heavy driving license. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan took the salute at the passing out parade held at the SAP ground. DGP Anil Kant, Battalion ADGP K. Padmakumar and others were present.

Candidates from Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Alappuzha, Idukki, Kannur, Kottayam, Kozhikode, Malappuram, Palakkad, Thrissur and Wayanad districts have completed six months of basic training and became part of the force. They were given training on the use and maintenance of new generation vehicles, VVIP security duty and escort duty as well.
