shooting

COPENHAGEN (DENMARK): Three people were killed in the shooting at a mall in Copenhagen, said the police. Numerous people have been critically injured in the gun shooting that took place at around 5:30 pm (Indian time 9 pm) on Sunday. The assailant, a 22-year-old Denmark citizen, has been arrested by the police.

According to the eyewitnesses, the young man had come to the mall with a big rifle used for hunting animals and started firing continuously. Two youths and a 40-year-old adult were killed in the attack, said the Copenhagen police.

Although investigation has begun, terror links have not yet been confirmed. The assailant had carried out the attack alone. The videos of him pointing a gun towards his head were posted on social media. These posts are also being investigated.

The attack took place about one-and-a-half kilometres away from a concert venue of British singer Harry Styles. The show was cancelled following the attack. Earlier, two people were killed and 21 sustained injuries in a shooting at Oslo in Norway, a week ago.
