Vikram as Adiya Karikalan; first look poster of 'Ponniyin Selvan' is out

The character poster of actor Vikram in Mani Ratnam's upcoming film 'Ponniyin Selvan' based on the famous historical novel written by legendary writer Kalki has been released. The actor will play the role of Prince Aditya Karikalan in the movie.

The film with a budget of 500 crores, is jointly produced by Mani Ratnam's Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions. The film is set in the tenth century and depicts the crises and dangers faced to attain the Chola Emperor's throne and the battles between the army, enemies and traitors.

Vikram, Aishwarya Rai, Trisha, Jayamravi, Karthi, Rahman, Prabhu, Sarath Kumar, Jayaram, Aishwarya Lakshmi, Prakash Raj, Lal, Vikram Prabhu, Parthipan, Babu Antony, Ashwin Kakumanu, Riaz Khan, Shobhita Dulipala, Jayachitra and other actors are among the cast. Amitabha Bachchan was originally supposed to play the role of Sundara Chola played by Prakash Raj.

The name of Trisha's character is Kundhavi. Kundavi is a Chola princess. A R Rahman is the music director. The film is made in 5 languages ​​Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. The film will hit the theatres on September 30.
