THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A fraud similar to the one happened in Kozhikode corporation was also detected in Thiruvananthapuram corporation. It is done by misusing the username and password of officials concerned without their knowledge and thus giving illegal numbers to two commercial buildings of a person. Two temporary data entry employees who were using the computer used for fraud were suspended. Further investigation will be conducted about the invlovement of these employees as well as of any others. The fraud has taken place before office hours.
The inspection by the Information Kerala Mission found that the irregularity occurred from the data entry computer in the main office. Numbers were given to buildings owned by Ajay Ghosh in Marapalam,Kesavadasapuram ward. The username and password of two officials and a bill collector were misused in the 'Sanchaya' software, which is issued for giving the building permission.
The fraud was brought out by the suspicion of the bill collector of Kesavadasapuram ward. On January 28, when he checked the building numbers given in his ward, he noticed two building numbers not given by him and complained to the secretary. An internal investigation was then conducted. Mayor Arya Rajendran filed a complaint with ADGP Manoj Abraham and Cyber Police Inspector Prakash was assigned for investigation.
