Differently-abled woman dies in hospital in Palakkad; relatives allege medical negligence

PALAKKAD: It has been alleged that a young woman died due to medical negligence at Thangam Hospital in Yakkara. The deceased has been identified as Kongad native Karthika (27), a differently-abled woman. . It is reported that the woman died due to a heart attack soon after she was given anaesthesia for the surgery. Relatives are alleging that there was medical negligence on the part of the hospital authorities. They also alleged that the hospital authorities had hidden the news of her death. Karthika's body has been shifted to the district hospital.

A mother and her newborn baby had died in the same hospital the other day. , Meanwhile, R Rajmohan Nair, MD of Thangam Hospital, said that there was no lapse on the part of the hospital authorities in the incident in which the mother and baby died soon after delivery.
