Accident in Kottarakkara: After couple, three-year-old daughter succumbs to injuries

KOLLAM: Three-year-old Shreya (Sreekutty) who was undergoing treatment for injuries sustained in an accident in Kottarakkara, succumbed to it. Her parents had died in the accident yesterday. The child was undergoing treatment in the ICU of a private hospital in Kollam for serious injuries.

The accident happened Tuesday early morning. Bineesh visited his sister in Ernakulam and left for their house in Kottarakkara with his wife Anju and daughter Shreya on Monday evening. The alto car in which they were travelling collided with an Innovoa car which was coming on the opposite side.

The alto losing its control came to a stop after hitting the wall of the Karayogam building. The car has been completely damaged. The locals who rushed to the spot took the bodies of Anju and Shreya after great difficulty. Though they were taken to Kottarakkara taluk hospital in a pickup van, Anju had died by then.

Bineesh was taken out from the driving seat after half an hour effort by the fire force from Kottarakkara and Adoor. His life could not be saved even after taken to Adoor taluk hospital. Bineesh was an auto mobile engineer.
