Encroached into reserve forest and provoked wild elephant; YouTuber charged with non-bailable offences

KOLLAM: A case has been filed against a YouTuber, who encroached into a reserve forest in Mampazhathara. The accused has been identified as Amala Anu, a native of Kilimanoor. She has been charged with non-bailable offences for provoking a wild elephant and then capturing its visuals using a helicam.

The case was filed by Ambanar deputy range officer M Ajay Kumar under the supervision of Pathanapuram range officer Dileep, as per the directions of Punalur DFO Shahnawaz.

The video was shot eight months back. The girl was chased by the elephant while capturing the visuals. The forest department registered the case after the videos went viral on social media.
