bar

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:The bar association has warned junior lawyers against wearing three-fourth and sleeveless blouses in court. The Thiruvananthapuram Bar Association informed that several complaints regarding the behavior of junior lawyers of the bar are being received continuously and such an instruction is being given because of this.

The notice issued by Bar Association states that several complaints regarding the indifferent attitude of junior members of the bar are being received at the office continuously, relating to the disrespectful behavior shown to the Senior lawyers and casual dressing manner and submissions before the Courts. The dressing of the junior lawyers causes total disrespect to the mandatory dressing code of the profession. Therefore lawyers should wear proper uniform to maintain the dignity of the profession. Unless disciplinary action will taken against them. Already a notice was issued on this behalf.

Meanwhile, a group of lawyers are of the opinion that the association demands to wear a particular type of dress outside the court or in the bar association hall, is against personal freedom. The bar association notice states that senior lawyers of the bar should tell their juniors about these things to maintain the dignity of the profession.
