Actor assault case: Forensic report says hash value of memory card was changed thrice

KOCHI: The hash value of the memory card containing the visuals of the actress attacked sent for examination was found to have changed thrice. The hash value changed when the memory card was in Angamaly Magistrate Court, trial and district courts.

The test results from the forensic lab in Thiruvananthapuram were handed over to the court in a sealed cover. The report also specified the dates on which the hash values changed.

The digital structure gets changed when copying or editing visuals from the memory card. Based on this, the crime branch team will seek more time for the investigation. The last date for submitting the further probe report is Friday (July 15).

The high court quashed the trial court's order not to examine the memory card and sent it for scientific examination. The high court order was considering the plea filed by the crime branch. It was also directed to hand over the test result in seven days. Justice Bachu Kurian Thomas passed the decisive order in the case.
