No Kohli and Sanju; Indian team for West Indies T20I series announced

MUMBAI: The Indian team for the upcoming T20I series against West Indies has been announced. Malayali star Sanju Samson, who was included in the ODI squad, was not named in the T20I squad. Former skipper Virat Kohli was also not named in the squad.

Batter KL Rahul and veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin were named in the 18-member squad. Meanwhile, pacer Jasprit Bumrah and spinner Yuzvendra Chahal have been rested.

Meanwhile, BCCI informed that the inclusion of KL Rahul and Kuldeep Yadav was subject to their fitness. Three wicketkeepers- Rishabh Pant, Dinesh Karthik and Ishan Kishan- have been included in the squad.

India will be playing 5 T20I matches against West Indies. The series will begin on July 29.
