Three-member gang breaks into mosque after Jumuah prayer, spreads cow dung; Strong protests

KANNUR: Strong protests have erupted over the spreading of cow dung, inside a mosque, by anti-social people. The incident took place at Moideen Mosque in Kannur market. The perpetrators of such an act should be caught and brought to justice, demanded various political representatives.

The incident took place on Friday after the believers left the mosque following the Jumuah prayer. A three-member gang had barged into the mosque and spread cow dung inside. A mosque employee immediately informed the mosque committee.

In a statement, Muslim League state secretary Abdul Rahman Kallayi, district president P Kunhi Muhammed and general secretary advocate Abdul Kareem Cheleri demanded that the accused should be found and brought before law. An inspection was conducted by Kannur DIG Rahul R Nair and city police commissioner R Ilango. CCTV footage from the area has also been collected.
