NEW DELHI: The bank account of the SDPI central committee office in Delhi has been frozen in connection with the murder of RSS activist Sreenivasan in Palakkad . The action was taken after it was discovered that the money had been transferred from the account of Central Committee office to the account of eleventh accused in the case.
Money was transferred into this account before and after Sreenivasan's murder. Canara Bank has taken action based on the report of the investigating officer in the case.
Sreenivasan, an RSS activist, was attacked at his own shop at Melamuri Junction on April 16 afternoon. The attackers arrived on two bikes and a scooter. Three people who were sitting at the back of the vehicle rushed into the shop and killed Sreenivasan.
Sreenivasan's murder was a revenge for the killing of Popular Front leader Subair, a resident of Ellapully. Twenty-five of the twenty-six accused have been arrested in the case.
