File settlement yajna slows down in Secretariat due to Assembly session

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: With the commencement of the assembly session, the file settlement yajna has slowed down in the secretariat where lakhs of files are pending. Officials are busy preparing answers to questions, submissions etc. to be answered by ministers in the House. The condition is that the answer to the next day's questions should be filed by 6 pm. The assembly session is till July 21.

The pending file numbers from 44 departments in the Secretariat were handed over to the Personnel & Administrative Reforms Department (P & ARD) but some departments did not include the file number. The P &A RD suggested to include in the number. These details are being updated in the software. The files will be merged after this and the exact information of the pending files will be available then. Further action would only be recommended after this.
