NEW DELHI: The presidential election is on today. Voting will start from 10 am. In Delhi, room no 63 in Parliament is the polling booth. Voting will also be held in the state assemblies. NDA's candidate Draupadi Murmu has a clear lead in the election and it is assured that she will be the new President of India securing more than 60 percent of the votes.
Draupadi Murmu may get a vote value of 6,70,000 with the support of Congress allies Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and Shiv Sena, Om Prakash Raj Bhar's Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party, which was with the Samajwadi Party in the opposition and Shivpal Yadav's Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party. The total vote value in the presidential election is 10,86,431.
Opposition candidate Yashwant Sinha, who is contesting with the support of 38 parties, does not have the support he had when he entered the election arena. AAP is supporting him. Many parties which pledged support later withdrew it. The opposition is expecting more than four lakh vote value.
